Analog clips from the early millennium.2

2001-2003
I spent my junior and senior years of high school in Lakewood Colorado, a suburb of Denver about 20 minutes away. Lakewood was a bleak and stereotypical Midwestern town and I was car-less for the majority of my stay. I probably would have gone mental if I didn't skateboard cuz I didn't relate very well with my classmates. I met some neat kids tho, hanging mostly with the Cornell St. Gang: dudes that lived in the town-homes across the street from my apartment complex off Bear Creek. I hung with Marky, Frank, Omar and Amir whom later formed the Vitamin Kids and Ben, Chris and Neil who were always down to skate and kick it. A lot of time was spent George Foreman grillin' with Omar, listening to Bad Religion while having theological debates with Neil, skating all the local spots and skateparks a bus ride away. Omar's superior emcee and b-boy abilities, Chris kickflipping everything and Marky's buttery boneless variations are highlights in my mind. The majority of footage however, features other friends from school/the neighborhood, like Josh Rivas: rich kid on the hill with all the nollie steez. Taylor Rue: blondie with the epic ollies and dry wit. Matt Dryer(I think?): The other blondie with big ollies that count for nothing in life and DJ Principle: 180 grabber and all around rad kid. Lots of nostalgia here.
